Here we are in week two of the Future Forest at Westfield’s London Shopping Center, where I am running a 35 meter Zip line for a fortnight. Its free to pop in and have a go, though I recommend turning up early to avoid disappointment.
Not to fear, I’ll be back in the wilds of Wales again soon, ready to take you all for a walk!
Well here we are, after an epic journey to London, via Guildford, we arrive in Westfield’s Shopping Center where the Zip Line is neearly completed.
The Future Forest is nearly ready for use, I’m exited!
After climbing up Injector Chimney, with a new belay partner seconding me for the first time. The chimney is to the right of Prickly Bulge and about 10m long.
We abseiled back into Box Bay, to have another play after this.
Here I am on the third wall at Castle Upon Alun Quarry, a route called Licence to Drill – Fr. 6c++ (from the log book) Climb easily up the slabs, just right of the corner, passing a mesmerizing geode enroute. A tricky sequence on the headwall accesses the cliff top and a pleasant exit. Shared belay to the right.
Well, I didn’t pass the blooming geode, but didn’t read the logbook before going to the Quarry, we popped in on the way to Box Bay you see to have a look and ended up trying a few routes. Looks like a lovely place to go when the sun is out, a short walk in of 15 minutes or so, meaning we’ll be going back there again.
Breakfast in Swanage, before heading over to Vertex’s Burnbake Office for ERCA refresher training and preparation for the new Zipwire in London. I’m definitely going to visit here in September when I have some time off.
